The Season of the New Harvest Is Coming

What Kind of Straw Do We Use For Mikó Straw?

The quality of different kinds of corn in the ear is significantly unique under natural circumstances in the Carpathian Basin, especially on the territory of the Great Hungarian Plain. The reason for the high quality is the favorable climate and the tolerant species (for example for rot, brown rot or fusarium).

The temperate continental climate does not subserve the different illnesses of leaves and barrels, so the wheat can grow healthily in times of drought as well. Because of this the straw dries naturally. One also should pay attention to the type of straw. Wet straw can cause different illnesses because of the rot and damp that is why one should be careful. Hungarian wheat species have rich leaves and there aren’t any awns. As a result one can produce the most absorbent and the healthiest bedding from the Hungarian straw.

As horses are really sensitive animals we, at Mikó Straw examine the quality of the straw to make sure that your horses will get the same good quality as bedding.
